Home sweet home !

2 more days and then I'm off to go home to Sweden, see my parents and my friends and just eat a lot of nice food for 10 entire days ! :D

I love living here in the Netherlands, because there are a LOT more people here. Always a lot of things going on everywhere and things to do. However there is not a lot of space here and I miss the nature and just "normal" houses with surrounding gardens. It's really rare to see here.

In Sweden it's basically the opposite, not as many people, not as many things going on so it is easy to get bored there if you stay for a longer time period, as least for me. However, there is beautiful nature, forests and there is just so much space - space enough for everyone (not only the filthy rich people lol) to have a garden with trees and plants and whatever you like.

Another big topic with living abroad is the food! I cannot and never will get used to the Dutch bread. Sorry, but Dutch people can't make nice bread. It just consists of air and is very tasteless.

I guess it's all about what you are grown up with and used to...

For example, Dutch people like to have "hagelslag" on their bread... In Sweden you use the same thing, but for icecream topping... lol

The bread here is already sliced, most of the time, and just really "airy". I'm used to something completely different.

Furthermore, Dutch people really like their mayo and fries... In Sweden you see more ppl walking down the street with a boiled hotdog with mustard and ketchup...

Last but not least, the idea of a traditional meal here is something like stamppot that looks like this.. and for me it is just the swedish meatballs with lingonberry jam ! Me and the Dutchman would die for 2 completely different meals!

The nature is just really different as well.. Holland is flat, trees are planted in a row a lot of times and yeah... just not the same. If there's something Sweden has a lot of, it's trees and nature!

So, bottomline: It is VERY nice to really come HOME sometimes and really enjoy everything from home extra much! Because if you live there and have it every day, it's easy to foresee the beauty of the nature, the silence and the food :D

And then it is nice to come back to Holland and have some fun and have a lot of people around as well! :)

Some nights are just not meant for sleep

Some nights, you are tired, you know you have to get up early... Everything speaks for that you SHOULD sleep, but then when you lay there, the feeling of inner rest just won't happen. You wanna turn around and you start thinking about bullshit basically.

During those nights, it's awesome to have another person next to you that has the same feeling. Last night, me and my baby went to bed, lights off and after 10 minutes I had to ask him a question that was on my mind.. Then I admitted that I couldn't sleep any time soon. He felt the same way!
Maybe it's something to do with the air pressure or so... ? Lol. Anyway, it was the best - talking, laughing in bed with my baby until we actually felt tired enough to sleep. And up again at 5.30 in the morning to go to school for an exam !

Sunny day, was absolutely beautiful - I biked to school, then from there in the morning sunshine to the city centre, and then home. All in short sleeves and in the sunshine :D Lovely.

To finish off a quite energetic day despite the lack of sleep, I started to yawn the moment I took my finance papers out to study some last things before tomorrow's exam... And I just couldn't fight it !

THAT nap was really awesome :)

My point is, sometimes, if you can't sleep anyway it's better to just talk to your loved one, be awake but have fun, instead of endless attempts to force oneself to sleep when it's not possible just yet... :)

Time flies...

Time really really flies. Days, weeks, years are passing by like seconds. That's why we have to take advantage of the time that we have and spend it wisely! :) Meaning in nice, memorable ways and also in ways that make us happy.

Ok, I know sometimes everyone has the feeling that you don't wanna do anything. But I like that quote by.. um.. goes like this:

The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.

I like that philosophy! Some people are busy all the time, but I'm not like that. Sometimes it's really just really oh so nice just to sit somewhere, lay somewhere, look, breathe, sleep, whatever :P

However, I do think you should consider this quote like something that has a limit (Couch potato warning otherwise!)

Well time flies, and I just hope it will fly for 5 more days and then my 2 finance exams will be over and hopefully done with! At least for a good while. Then I am off to Amsterdam to just ENJOY some time with my precious baby.

I'm so happy, because I think I have found what so many people are looking for for a very long time. I found someone that just loves me the way I am, surprises me, makes me feel good just every single little second.

Someone who enjoys doing things for me just as much as I enjoy doing things for him.

Someone I want to share the rest of my life with.

Someone who shares the same life philosophy as I do.

And after almost 2 years, and you see so many people around you going apart after that amount of time, my baby and I are just going stronger, always having fun, looking forward to seeing one another and continuously planning surprises for each other. That's how life should be! :)
