2 more days and then I'm off to go home to Sweden, see my parents and my friends and just eat a lot of nice food for 10 entire days ! :D
I love living here in the Netherlands, because there are a LOT more people here. Always a lot of things going on everywhere and things to do. However there is not a lot of space here and I miss the nature and just "normal" houses with surrounding gardens. It's really rare to see here.
In Sweden it's basically the opposite, not as many people, not as many things going on so it is easy to get bored there if you stay for a longer time period, as least for me. However, there is beautiful nature, forests and there is just so much space - space enough for everyone (not only the filthy rich people lol) to have a garden with trees and plants and whatever you like.
Another big topic with living abroad is the food! I cannot and never will get used to the Dutch bread. Sorry, but Dutch people can't make nice bread. It just consists of air and is very tasteless.
I guess it's all about what you are grown up with and used to...
For example, Dutch people like to have "hagelslag" on their bread... In Sweden you use the same thing, but for icecream topping... lol

The bread here is already sliced, most of the time, and just really "airy". I'm used to something completely different.

Furthermore, Dutch people really like their mayo and fries... In Sweden you see more ppl walking down the street with a boiled hotdog with mustard and ketchup...

Last but not least, the idea of a traditional meal here is something like stamppot that looks like this.. and for me it is just the swedish meatballs with lingonberry jam ! Me and the Dutchman would die for 2 completely different meals!

The nature is just really different as well.. Holland is flat, trees are planted in a row a lot of times and yeah... just not the same. If there's something Sweden has a lot of, it's trees and nature!

So, bottomline: It is VERY nice to really come HOME sometimes and really enjoy everything from home extra much! Because if you live there and have it every day, it's easy to foresee the beauty of the nature, the silence and the food :D
And then it is nice to come back to Holland and have some fun and have a lot of people around as well! :)
